COSMIC ROUNDUP: AMÉE CHANTER OF HUMAN LEATHER
Oh yeah, as much as a full time job and shit mental health will allow. Sometimes juggling the organisational guff of the band alongside the aforementioned can be a bit difficult, but I/we do our best. One day I wonder if it will get too much and we'll have to hang up our d.i.y hat and pay someone to help, but then I also remember how often I say "We're a band, not a brand" and carry on with committing to stress and sleep deprivation.
What was it like playing with Mclusky?
I hope not, but even if it is, at least the joke involved playing with Mclusky.
Here's a list of shit-hot Brighton bands you should listen to tho, sorry if I missed any of you 'cos of my tired shit brain: Herd Mover, Rotten Foxes, Pascagoula, Aerosol Jesus, Kalloused, I'm Being Good, DKH, Ill in Pain, Wallowing, Modern Technology, Skinny Milk, Crypsis (r.i.p), Watchcries (r.i.p).
What was the best gig you played in 2019?
Mclusky has got to be up there, obvz. Dreadfest and Woodland Gathering were our first "propah" festival jaunts and we had an absolute blast at both. Admittedly, as cheesy as it sounds, they're all great gigs. There's always great new bands/pals to discover and it's cathartic as hell to get onstage and be a loud bastard.
Best festival you attended?
The new offerings from Full of Hell, Christian Fitness, The St Pierre Snake Invasion, Bilge Pump, Torche, Girls in Synthesis, BODEGA, Uranium Club, Dabbla, Dirty Dike, (those last two are late '18, but took up a lot of my '19) are also great.
I wish I could have added Paper Mice to the list, but alas I'll have to keep repeating that one new song they uploaded a live video of on YouTube, in 2018, until I get to hear the new record.
I also came across multiplebirdstrikes, their release wasn't from this year, but they are a band from the state of New York, USA that I stumbled across through Instagram and more people should hear that record (my fave song gotta be - "Delightful (Cantelope Can't Elope) Arches" even though I know no-one asked). Note of warning: if close up pictures of rear ended anatomy aint your thing, listen to them on Spotify as opposed to Bandcamp as it has a censored cover
